RECOURSE (TAWASUL) THROUGH HADRAT UMUL BANEEN (MAY ALLAH’S PEACE UPON HER)

Late Hujjatul Islam wal Muslimeen Rabbani Khalkhali in volume 2 page 69 of “chehre dirakhshan Qamar Bani Hashim Abu al-Fadl Abbas (peace be upon him)” writes as follows:

Among our community not only recourse (Tawasul) through Aba Fadl Abbas (peace be upon him) is completely common rather recourse through his honorable mother Hadrat Umul Baneen (peace be upon her) is also popular.

A lot of religious and intellectuals also recourse through Hadrat Umul Baneen (peace be upon her) in order alleviate their difficulties and to uplift their problems; consequently their needs are granted without any delay. This is a clear testimony of the greatness and exaltedness of this great woman before the presence of Almighty Allah.

It is mentioned in one of the experimented supplication that Umul Baneen (peace be upon her) after the fourteen infallibles (peace be upon them) is one of the means of getting closer to Almighty Allah and likewise the acceptance of ones demand. Thus the supplication is mentioned in the book known as “Majmu’ah Ilm Jafr” as follows:

The period of this supplication is after Subhi prayer or after Isha’I prayer and it is better if the supplication is commenced at beginning of the month.

The first day with the intention of the seal of the Prophets Hadrat Muhammad bn Abdullah (peace be upon him and his family); the second day with the intention of the commander of the faithful Ali bn Abi Talib (peace be upon him); the third day with the intention of holy Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her); the forth day with the intention of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him)…. Up till the fourteenth day which should be with the intention of the remainder of Allah’s proof, the leader of the time (May our soul be sacrifice for him). It is by invoking blessing upon the Prophet one thousand times (1,000) i.e. (Allahuma Sali ala Muhammad wa ali Muhammad) with the inclusion of “Wa Ajjil farajahu”. And in addition, the fifteenth day should be with the intention of Hadrat Abal Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him); the sixteenth day with the intention of Hadrat Umul Baneen (peace be upon her); the seventeenth day also with the intention of Hadrat Zainab Kubra (peace be upon her). So in every blesses day you invoke one thousand times blessing upon the holy Prophet, but at the last day after invoking the blessing you recite the popular recourse supplication that is mentioned in Mafatihul Janan which its beginning is as follows:

“Allahuma ini As’aluka wa Atawajahu ileka binabiyyika Nabiyyi Rahmah…..”.

O’ Allah I request and concentrate to you through your Prophet, the Prophet of mercy…….

It is mentioned in the book that is transmitted from a reliable source that some people has done the aforementioned supplication when they visited the door of all request, Abal Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), he said to them: “your requests are granted”. That person swears that the request of each an every one of them is granted.[1]
